WE HAD A GREAT DAY ! On Saturday October 14th, early in the cool morning, 29 hardy souls loaded into 13 Corvettes and 2 other vehicles for a nice drive north on Route 8 to Titusville. The weather was great until we turned off Rt 8, a block and a half from the train station. At that time it started to sprinkle and by the time we covered the short distance to the station it was snowing and very cold. Within 1/2 hour we started loading onto a very crowded train. All the seats were booked and the railroad people had quite a time stuffing several hundred people into the available seats. We had a nice train ride and learned quite a lot about the Oil Creek Valley history and its inhabitants from the guides that accompanied us and the recordings on the train's audio system.. Upon the train's return to Titusville we walked over to the restaurant where we were all seated together in a corner. We then warmed up and enjoyed some good food. We also took the opportunity to celebrate some birthdays. When we were ready to return the weather was clearing and the drive home was nice.
